Rumsfeld doubts Saddam Laden linkDonald Rumsfeld has cast doubt on whether there was ever a relationship between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda.
The alleged link was one of the justifications used by President Bush for the invasion of Iraq.
In front of an audience in New York, Mr Rumsfeld was asked about connections between Saddam and Osama Bin Laden. 'To my knowledge, I have not seen any strong, hard evidence that links the two,' he said.
Damn, maybe now the right-wing moron pundits like Hannity will stop lying about their having been a relationship.
Hannity keeps hammering pro-Kerry guests with the demand that they answer "yes" or "no" to the question "Was removing Saddam a good thing?" This is, of course, like demanding a "yes" or "no" answer to the question "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" My suggested way to answer Hannity's question is to throw back this analogy at Hannity: Let's say you have gangrene at the tip of your toe. If the tip of the toe is removed, you will be perfectly healthy, and still have a fully functioning foot. The doctor, unfortunately, amputates your entire leg. Then when you complain about what he's done, the doctor demands a "yes" or "no" answer to the question, "Was getting rid of your gangrenous toe a good thing?"
